LOCAL NON-PROFITS CREATE – FREDERICK STRONG: “72 HOURS OF CARING FOR MARRIAGES AND FAMILIES” CAMPAIGN

Two Legacy Frederick County Non-profit Organizations Partner for Marriages and Families

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Frederick (Care Net Pregnancy Center of Frederick) and Marriage Resource Center of Frederick County (MRCFC) have created a UNIQUE opportunity to support marriages, relationships, families, and the unborn…..Frederick Strong: 72 Hours of Caring for Marriages and Families. This opportunity to support BOTH organizations will run from September 6-8, 2017. Care Net Frederick and MRCFC have been an integral part of the Frederick community for 34 years and 11 years respectively, serving the needs of the unborn, parents, parents-to-be, families; couples preparing for marriage, couples with relationship challenges, children and youth learning about developing healthy relationships, and couples that desire a “tune-up” to further grow their marriage.

Care Net Frederick (www.carenetfrederick.org) provides pregnancy tests, confirmation ultrasounds, STI/STD testing, educational incentive classes, and support services for women and men facing a pregnancy decision.

MRCFC (www.marriagefrederick.org) provides mentoring services for premarital couples and those facing marital crisis. Classes are also provided for families and individuals to teach the skills needed for healthy relationships.
Frederick Strong: “72 Hours of Caring for Marriages and Families” has its roots in Frederick48, founded by Pastor Jonathan Switzer in 2012. Frederick48 grew into the Unity Campaign, governed by the United Way of Frederick County this year. Both organizations were not approved for participation this year in the 2017 Unity Campaign by the United Way’s Board of Directors despite inclusion in many previous campaigns.

A special website for giving will be established with the opportunity to give on-line from September 6-8. Matching funds via business sponsorships are also being solicited to support individual and organizational giving. Any organization interested in providing matching funds can call Chris Bugher, Executive Director of MRCFC, at 301-502-1660 or Linda King, Executive Director of Care Net Frederick, at 301-662-5300 x221.
